as mulheres.
The role of advertising in the construction of negative stereotypes about women has been a constant subject of investigation since the resurgence of the feminist movement in the 1960s, in what is conventionally called the Second Wave. More recent and less fruitful, however, are the studies about advertising women, the professional who works in the advertising market and, in a way, helps to corroborate the way in which advertising represents women. In this sense, this thesis proposes to give prominence and voice to advertising women in the creative area, considered an eminently male stronghold due to the small female presence and the perseverance of a male culture. In order to understand how advertising women in the creative area evaluate their work, especially in relation to the greater male presence, and to find out how they see female representation in advertising, interviews were conducted with Brazilian and Portuguese professionals. In relation to the bibliography, privileged the use of feminist women authors. In conclusion, it is understood that advertising has evolved in its way of welcoming and representing women, but that a male culture still predominates. |
