Os impactos sociais do voluntariado – estudo de caso da Sopro

Abstract

O voluntariado é uma atividade que remonta já às primeiras civilizações, tendo ao longo do tempo, assumido maior importância no papel desenvolvido, uma vez que, este contribui fortemente para a coesão económica e social de qualquer comunidade. Pretende-se com este estudo conhecer o contributo que a SOPRO- Solidariedade e Promoção, enquanto Organização não Governamental para o desenvolvimento tem para o bem-estar da população idosa, envolvida nos seus projetos e comunidade, mais especificamente o projeto Amor Não Tem Idade (ANTI). Objetiva-se analisar o impacto do voluntariado na vida do idoso, tendo em conta, que o voluntariado não só gera benefícios em quem o pratica, mas também em quem é alvo do mesmo. Foram realizadas entrevistas aos diversos agentes do Projeto, desde a responsável pelo projeto, até voluntários e utentes. A pesquisa realizada permitiu compreender que SOPRO é uma importante fonte de companhia social e apoio emocional, contribuindo para a estabilidade dos seus utentes, em complementaridade para com o conjunto de relações pessoais dos indivíduos, protagonizadas muitas vezes pelos voluntários do projeto que seriam em última instância a única companhia de alguns Beneficiários do projeto.

Volunteering is an activity that dates back to the first civilizations, having over time assumed greater importance in the role played, since it strongly contributes to the economic and social cohesion of any community. The aim of this study is to know the contribution that SOPRO-Solidarity and Promotion, as a non-governmental organization for development, has for the well-being of the elderly population, involved in its projects and community, more specifically the project Amor Não Tem Idade (ANTI). The objective is to analyze the impact of volunteering in the life of the elderly, considering, that volunteering not only generates benefits for those who practice it, but also for those who are targeted. Interviews were conducted with the different agents of the Project, from the person responsible for the project, volunteers, and users. The research carried out allowed us to understand that SOPRO is an important source of social companionship and emotional support, contributing to the stability of its users, in complementarity with the set of personal relationships of individuals, often carried out by project volunteers who would ultimately be the only company of some beneficiaries of the project.
