Transformação de uma linha de água: o Lima e as aldeias submersas

Abstract

A dissertação expõe várias transformações ocorridas na linha de água, o rio Lima. Inicialmente é abordada uma caracterização da linha de água e do território com o intuito de se ter uma visão geral das suas diversas características. E desta forma poder posteriormente compreender as alterações e transformações ocorridas no rio. De seguida são expostas as construções da barragem As Conchas, do Alto Lindoso e de Touvedo, através de uma narrativa evolutiva. Pois estas infraestruturas foram as maiores responsáveis pelas grandes alterações sofridas no rio lima, como também por uma série de consequências impostas no território, paisagem e populações envolventes, tais como a inundação de diversos terrenos e algumas infraestruturas, aldeias e marcos históricos. Através desta análise constrói-se um reconhecimento e interpretação das alterações ocorridas aos longo de várias décadas até à atualidade. De modo a obter uma representação clara e interpretativa das diversas alterações. Após esta caracterização das evoluções e alterações ocorridas no rio lima serão expostas as consequências/ impactos das transformações provocadas pelas alterações climáticas mais concretamente a seca, que foi o principal elemento que o afetou. Aqui é apresentado um registo interpretativo do impacto provocado no desenho da paisagem, território e mesmo a nível social com o intuito de alertar para as mudanças que estamos a sofrer e as consequências gravíssimas que poderemos vir a ter. De seguida, através de uma análise das aldeias afetadas por estas transformações aferimos com mais pormenor, o nível de impacto que as alterações e transformações trouxeram para o território onde estas estavam inseridas. Por fim, tendo a aldeia de Aceredo como foco principal, é realizado um estudo pormenorizado sobre as características físicas, mas também das tradições e costumes. Abordando posteriormente o impacto que a inundação teve na população residente. Finalizando com a situação atual da aldeia, sendo explorado a premissa da memória como meio de ligação entre a aldeia submersa de Aceredo e os antigos residentes e toda população. Para concluir, esta dissertação tem como objetivo alertar para as alterações que a linha de água e o território têm vindo a sofrer, ultimamente, devido às alterações climáticas. Inquietando desta forma para a necessidade de conservar e estudar as alterações ocorridas na paisagem, território e linha de água, com o fim de minimizar as problemáticas associadas, mas também conservar toda a história e património existente na mesma. Construindo uma nova e mais completa visão sobre a problemática associada. Expondo por fim uma visão e um conjunto de questionamentos sobre o futuro da Linha de água e do território inserido.

The dissertation exposes several transformations that occurred in the waterline, the Lima River. Initially, a characterization of the waterline and the territory is addressed in order to have an overview of the various characteristics that characterize them. And in this way to be able later to understand the alterations and transformations that occurred in the river. Then, the constructions of the As Conchas, Alto Lindoso and Touvedo dam are exposed, through an evolutionary narrative. Because these infrastructures were largely responsible for the major changes suffered in the river Lima, as well as for a series of consequences imposed on the territory, landscape and surrounding populations, such as the flooding of various lands and some infrastructures, villages and historic landmarks. Through this analysis, a recognition and interpretation of the changes that have occurred over several decades to the present day is built. In order to obtain a clear and interpretive representation of the various changes. After this characterization of the evolutions and alterations that occurred in the Lima River, the causes of the transformations caused by climate change, more specifically drought, which was the main element that affected it, will be exposed. Here, an interpretative record of the impact caused on the design of the landscape, territory and even at a social level is presented in order to draw attention to the changes we are undergoing and the very serious consequences that we may have. Then, through an analysis of the villages affected by these transformations, the level of impact that the alterations and transformations brought to the territory where they were inserted was measured in more detail. Finally, having the village of Aceredo as the main focus, a detailed study is carried out on the physical characteristics, but also on the traditions and customs. Later addressing the impact that the flood had on the resident population. Ending with the current situation of the village, exploring the premise of memory as a means of connection between the submerged village of Aceredo and the former residents and the entire population. To conclude, this dissertation aims to draw attention to the changes that the waterline and the territory have been suffering, lately, due to climate change. Concerning in this way the need to conserve and study the changes that have occurred in the landscape, territory and waterline, in order to minimize the associated problems, but also to conserve all the history and heritage existing in it. Building a new and more complete view of the associated problem. Finally exposing a vision and a set of questions about the future of the Water Line and the inserted territory.
