Mapeamento do índice de sinistralidade rodoviária no Município de Braga

Abstract

A importância de analisar a sinistralidade, principalmente no ambiente urbano, onde o número de acidentes rodoviários tem aumentado a nível mundial, está diretamente relacionada com o facto dos acidentes muitas vezes levarem à morte ou então deixarem graves sequelas nas vítimas. Em muitos casos, os acidentes ocorrem devido a erros humanos tais como a distração, a fadiga, o desrespeito pelas regras de trânsito entre outras. O relatório da Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) sobre a segurança nas estradas do mundo, no ano de 2018, afirma que o número de mortes por acidente de viação continua a aumentar, situando-se nos 1,35 milhões de vítimas anuais. Refere ainda que as lesões resultantes de acidentes de viação são agora a principal causa de morte de crianças e jovens com idades compreendidas entre os 5 e 29 anos. Esta dissertação centra-se sobretudo no estudo do Índice da Sinistralidade Rodoviária no município de Braga. Foram adquiridas um conjunto de dados referentes a acidentes ocorridos em Braga no ano 2016, 2017 e 2018, recorrendo ao modelo Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIG), que através da ferramenta ArcGis, serviu para mapear o índice de sinistralidade rodoviária no local em estudo. Esta ferramenta permitiu identificar os troços das vias de estradas onde se registaram mais acidentes. Com a ajuda das informações fornecidas principalmente de Autoridade Nacional da Segurança Rodoviária (ANSR), e a Câmara Municipal de Braga, foi importante na análise dos dados, e contribuiu também para a tomada da decisão no que refere as propostas e futuras intervenções. No decorrer da dissertação percebeu-se que os acidentes rodoviários ocorrem em qualquer lugar onde circula um determinado veículo, no entanto, já́ foram feitos alguns estudos que demonstram que há́locais onde existe mais probabilidade de ocorrer acidentes.

The importance of analyzing accidents, especially in the urban environment, where the number of road accidents has increased worldwide, is directly related to the fact that accidents often lead to death or leave serious sequelae in victims. In many cases, accidents occur due to human errors such as distraction, fatigue, disrespect for the rules of traffic, among others. The Report of the World Health Organization (WHO) on safety on the world's roads in 2018 states that the number of deaths from road accidents continues to rise to 1.35 million annual casualties. It also states that injuries resulting from road accidents are now the main cause of death of children and young people aged between 5 and 29 years. This dissertation focuses mainly on the study of the Road Accident Index in the city of Braga. A set of data related to accidents occurred in Braga in 2016, 2017 and 2018 were acquired, using the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) model, which through the ArcGIS tool, served to map the road accident rate at the site under study. This tool made it possible to identify the sections of the roads where the most accidents occurred. With the help of information provided mainly by the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), and the Braga City Council, it was important in the analysis of the data, and contributed to the decision-making regarding the proposals and future interventions. During the dissertation, it was not iced that road accidents occur anywhere and at different times of the day, however, some studies have already been done that show that there are places where accidents are more likely to occur.
