O direito e o amanhã

Abstract

A chegada da Quarta Revolução Industrial promete revolucionar tudo o que conhecemos, tendo como epicentro a utilização dos big data e o desenvolvimento da Inteligência Artificial e Robótica. Estas novas tecnologias estão a apoderar-se do mundo físico, combinando-o com o digital, permitindo o que apenas se encontrava nas histórias de ficção possa saltar para a realidade. Apesar das vantagens das novas tecnologias, elas não deixam de causar problemas, principalmente jurídicos, pondo em causa violação de direitos dos cidadãos quando as utilizam, não tendo consciência de que estão a ser vítimas de uma nova ordem mundial, os plutocratas tecnológicos. O Direito terá de rever o seu papel na sociedade e adaptar-se a um futuro onde a tecnologia, mais do que se tornar o centro das nossas vidas, pode muito bem ter vida própria.

The arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution promises to reform everything we know, having as its epicenter the use of big data and the development of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. These new technologies are taking over the physical world, merging it with the digital, allowing what was only found in fictional stories, to leap into reality. Despite the advantages of new technologies, they still cause difficulties, mainly legal, calling into question the violation of citizens' rights when they use them, not being aware that they are being victims of a new world order, the technological plutocrats. The Law will have to review its role in society, and adjust itself accordingly to a future where technology, more than being a central part of our lives, may very well have a life of its own.
