As Nomeadas Colectivas em Trás-os-Montes: património em metáforas de identidade, diferenciação e tradução cultural

Abstract

Os processos de nomeação são um dado cultural universal, ou seja, estão identificados e estudados em todas as culturas e sociedades, mas adquirem particularismos idiossincráticos ao nível local ou regional. As Nomeadas Colectivas em Trás-os-Montes são então um particularismo cultural, uma manifestação que apesar de não ser exclusiva da região, adquire aí contornos específicos e diferenciadores. A consciência de que as Nomeadas Colectivas, enquanto caracteres culturais, estão, por várias razões, em desuso e em risco de desaparecimento do quotidiano das comunidades, foi a primeira motivação para este exercício. São ainda relevantes nos processos de nomeação na região. Contextualizados pela literatura produzida e partindo das fontes documentais e bibliográficas existentes, assim como dos testemunhos etnográficos possíveis no terreno, este exercício pretendeu: afirmar as Nomeadas Colectivas como património; perceber as dinâmicas, motivações, percepções e significados, nos processos de nomeação; perspectivar as Nomeadas Colectivas como caracteres de identidades, de alteridades e de tradução de culturas, ao serviço de processos de auto e hétero-identidades. Numa leitura diacrónica, procurámos alcançar a evolução desses processos de nomeação e destacar os momentos críticos de mudança, suas razões ou causas; conhecemos os tempos e os lugares de eleição para estas manifestações e percebemos os impactes nos indivíduos e nas comunidades. Não tendo sido possível elencar todas as nomeadas, apresentamos as tipologias representativas, naquilo que designámos de etnografias identitárias de nomeadas, de protagonistas e de espaços privilegiados para esta peculiar forma de nomeação.

Naming processes are a universal cultural fact, in other words, is identified and studied in all cultures and societies however, it acquires idiosyncratic particularities at a local or regional level. Thereby, the Collective Nicknames in Trás-os-Montes are a cultural particularism and, despite not being exclusive to the region, they acquire specific and distinguishing contours. One is aware that Collective Nicknames are, for several reasons, cultural characters in disuse and in danger of disappearing from the daily life of communities. That was the first motivation for this exercise, because they are still relevant for the naming processes in the region. Contextualized by the produced literature and based on existing documentary and bibliographic sources, as well on potential ethnographic testimonies possible in the field, this exercise intended to: to affirm the Collective Nicknames as heritage; understand the dynamics, motivations, perceptions and meanings in the naming processes; view the Collective Nicknames as characters of identities, of alterities, and of culture’s translation, at the service of self and hetero identities processes. In a diachronic reading, one has tried to achieve the evolution of these naming processes and highlight critical moments of change, their reasons or causes; one knows times and places for these manifestations and one realizes the impacts on individuals and communities. If not possible to list all the Collective Nicknames, one presents the representative typologies, in what might be called ethnographical identities for Collective Nicknames, protagonists and privileged spaces to this peculiar naming form.
