Marcadores discursivos e tradução. Quanto contexto é suficiente contexto?

Abstract

Wittgenstein (2000 [1953]: 30), ao refletir sobre o significado linguístico, sobre o ato de significar, em Investigações Filosóficas, postula a necessidade de considerar o uso como resposta a esse questionamento. O autor põe a tónica no facto de a linguagem verbal manifestada nas Línguas Naturais ser uma atividade humana fundamental, por isso realizada e apreendida em contexto e, necessariamente, abordada a partir do uso. Este reposicionamento teórico, que se designa como abordagem pragmática da língua, ou do uso/funcionamento do sistema, no dizer de Joaquim Fonseca (1994), coloca o contexto como conceito central. O nosso objetivo é retomar as teorias do contexto, não para as discutir em si, mas para realçar a sua importância teórica e metodológica para as áreas de investigação e de tradução dos Marcadores Discursivos, a partir da análise de usos de aliás e tipo. A complexidade do conceito de contexto, mas, sobretudo, a sua centralidade teórica e metodológica, na determinação das funções dos MD em ocorrências específicas, tendo em conta a multifuncionalidade desta categoria discursiva, sobressai da análise realizada.

Reflecting on linguistic meaning, the act of signifying, Wittgenstein (2000 119531: 30) postulates the need to consider language usage as an answer to this questioning. The author emphasizes the fact that verbal language manifested in Natural Languages is a fundamental human activity, therefore carried out and apprehended in context and, necessarily, approached through usage. This theoretical frame, a pragmatic approach to language, or to the usage/functioning of the linguistic system, in the words of Joaquim Fonseca (1994), places context as a central concept. Our aim is to revisit the theories of context, not to discuss them in themselves, but to highlight their theoretical and methodological importance for the areas of research and translation of Discursive Markers (DM), based on the analysis of the occurrences of alias and tip& From the analysis carried out stands out the complexity of the concept of context and, above all, its theoretical and methodological centrality, in determining the functions of DMs in specific occurrences, taking into account the multifunctionality of this discursive category.
