Educação sexual na escola básica pública portuguesa : análise sociológica das perspectivas e práticas pedagógicas de professores do 3.º ciclo

Abstract

Este trabalho consiste num estudo desenvolvido numa escola básica e tem como temática central a análise do processo de implementação da educação sexual na escola básica pública portuguesa, incidindo nas experiências de um grupo de professores que têm leccionado a área citada. Assume, como principal objectivo, compreender e interpretar sociologicamente as práticas lectivas de professores do 3.º ciclo da escola básica relativamente à educação sexual, procurando reflectir sobre as perspectivas concretas da escola, aspirações, necessidades, desejos e constrangimentos dos docentes e analisar a evolução das orientações educativas oficiais nesta matéria. A presente dissertação, faz uma abordagem desta temática partindo da evolução legislativa verificada em Portugal e de reflexões teóricas sobre as mudanças operadas, pela pós-modernidade, na sociedade em geral e nos relacionamentos afectivos, em particular. Foi efectuada uma investigação de carácter exploratório, sendo entrevistados dez professores do 3.º ciclo da escola pública. Os resultados obtidos mostram que os professores revelam uma atitude favorável em relação à inclusão desta temática no contexto educativo da escola pública portuguesa, mesmo reconhecendo a grande ambiguidade e discrepâncias existentes entre o legislado e o efectivamente praticado. Mostram, também, satisfação pela experiência gratificante de leccionarem esta área e reconhecem igualmente a grande necessidade que os jovens têm de ser esclarecidos nesta temática, entendendo-a como essencial para a sua formação e construção da identidade. Pretende-se com este trabalho contribuir para o debate e esclarecimento de situações e complexidades não muito definidas sobre a temática acima referenciada.

This work is the result of a study developed in a basic school and has a central theme the analysis of the process of implementation of the sexual education in the basic Portuguese public school based in the experiences of a group of teachers who have been teaching the quoted area. It pretends, as main purpose, to understand and to interpret sociologically the school practices of the 3rd cycle teachers of the basic school towards sexual education, trying to focus on the school's concrete perspectives, as well as on the teacher's aspirations, needs, desires and constraints. It also pretends to analyse the evolution of the official educational orientation in this matter. The present dissertation does an approach of this theme that considers the legislative evolution verified in Portugal and the theoretical reflections about the changes operated, by the pos-modernity, in the society in general and in the affectionate relationships, in particular. There was a merely exploratory inquiry, being interviewed ten 3rd cycle teachers of the public school. The results obtained show that, even recognizing the great ambiguity and the existence of profound discrepancies between the legislation and the effective practice, the teachers reveal a favourable attitude regarding the inclusion of this theme in the context of the Portuguese public school. They show, also, satisfaction for the gratifying experience of teaching this area, and they recognize equally the youth's great need of information in this specific thematic, considering it as essential for their formation and construction of the identity. One intends, with this work, to contribute for the discussion and enlightening of situations and complexities, which are still not very well defined on the theme refered above.
