Abstract(s)Joana L. Rodrigues is a PhD researcher at Centre of Biological Engineering and an Invited Assistant Professor at University of Minho. She holds a PhD in Bioengineering Systems (MIT-Portugal Program-2014). During her PhD, she was a visiting student for one year at the Prather Lab at MIT, where she worked on curcuminoids heterologous production. Her research interests include the use of different chassis to construct biosynthetic pathways for the production of therapeutic and industrially relevant compounds using synthetic biology tools. In this lecture she will briefly present the research centre and the synthetic biology group that is focused in synthetic biology approaches for the discovery of new enzymes and bioproducts; for engineering new pathways, functions and organisms; for triple negative breast cancer diagnosis and treatment; and more recently, for the study of bacterial adhesion and for the construction of biosensors.
