O ensino de botânica no 1.º e 2.º ciclos do ensino básico

Abstract

Este estudo desenvolveu-se no âmbito da Unidade Curricular de Estágio do Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Matemática e Ciências Naturais no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e desenvolveu-se numa turma do 2.º ano de escolaridade no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (1.º CEB) e numa turma do 5.º ano no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico (2.º CEB). O projeto teve como finalidade implementar o ensino de Botânica e consciencializar os alunos acerca da importância das plantas para o meio ambiente. Para tal, realizou-se uma intervenção pedagógica em ambos os ciclos do Ensino Básico, sendo que no 2.º CEB decorreu através do Ensino à Distância devido à atual pandemia. Numa fase inicial, foi fundamental compreender os conhecimentos prévios dos alunos sobre o tema a abordar para a elaboração do projeto. Assim, seguiu-se uma abordagem de investigação-ação que integra diferentes ciclos, nomeadamente planificação, ação, observação e reflexão. Neste sentido, os objetivos delineados permitiram criar situações de investigação e reflexão ao longo do projeto; utilizar estratégias diversificadas na aprendizagem de novos conteúdos programáticos; integrar a metodologia de trabalho de campo no ensino; e, por fim, estimular o interesse nos alunos pelas Ciências Naturais. A análise de resultados teve principal foco nos dados recolhidos nos pré e pós-teste, referentes ao 1.º CEB, e na ficha de avaliação realizada no 2.º CEB. Os resultados foram positivos o que indicou, por isso, a eficácia do estudo. Esta investigação contribuiu para uma evolução dos alunos, onde estes adquiriram novos conhecimentos e tiveram um papel ativo no processo de ensino e de aprendizagem.

This study was developed as part of the Internship Program of the Master in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education and was carried out in a 2nd year class in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education ( 1st CEB) and in a 5th year class in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education (2nd CEB). The main objective of the project was to implement Botany teaching and raise students' awareness about the importance of plants to the environment. To this end, a pedagogical intervention was carried out in both cycles of Basic Education, and in the 2nd CEB it took place via Remote Learning, due to the current pandemic. Initially, it was essential to understand the students' prior knowledge on the subject for project development. As such, an action research approach was followed, integrating different phases, such as planning, action, observation and discussion. Accordingly, the outlined objectives led to investigative and thought-provoking situations throughout the project; the use of diversified strategies in learning new curricular contents; the integration of fieldwork methodology in teaching; and, finally, the stimulation of students' interest in Natural Sciences. Results analysis focused mainly on the data collected in the pre- and post-test, referring to the 1st CEB, and in the assessment form performed in the 2nd CEB. The results were positive, which indicated, consequently, the effectiveness of the study. This research contributed to student development, where students acquired new knowledge and played an active role in the teaching-learning process.
