Do espaço exterior para a sala de atividades

Abstract

O presente relatório intitula-se “Do espaço exterior para a sala de atividades” e surge no âmbito na Unidade Curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES) inserido no Plano de Estudos do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar lecionado na Universidade do Minho. Este relatório tem por base, o projeto de intervenção desenvolvido em contexto de creche e em contexto pré-escolar. Os projetos desenvolvidos foram delineados com base nas observações realizadas durante as primeiras semanas de estágio num e noutro contexto que evidenciaram um interesse especial dos grupos por brincar no espaço exterior. O espaço exterior da instituição de estágio encontrava-se em restruturação e por isso fazia sentido aproveitar esta circunstância para ampliar as oportunidades de brincadeira e exploração nesse espaço ou, em alternativa, “trazer o espaço exterior para a sala” oferecendo às crianças materiais naturais e outros materiais de uso aberto para manipularem e explorarem. Os dados recolhidos durante os projetos de intervenção sugerem que quer o brincar no espaço exterior, quer a exploração de materiais naturais constituem oportunidades ricas para a aprendizagem das crianças, em creche e em jardim de infância.

The present report is entitled “From the outer space to the activity room” and appears within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice Course (PES) inserted in the Study Plan for the Master in Pre-School Education taught at the University of Minho. This report is based on the intervention project developed in a day care centre and in a pre-school context. The projects were outlined based on the observations made during the first weeks of the internship in each context that revealed a special interest of the groups of children in playing outside. The outdoor space of the internship institution was undergoing restructuring and, therefore, it made sense to take advantage of this circumstance to expand the opportunities for playing and exploration in that space or, alternatively, “bring the outdoor space to the room” presenting children natural materials and others open use materials to manipulate and explore. The data collected during the intervention projects suggest that both playing outside and exploring natural and open materials are rich opportunities for children to learn, in day care and kindergarten.
