O silêncio: uma análise comparativa entre as conceções orientais e ocidentais

Abstract

Neste trabalho, apresenta-se as dimensões do silêncio nas conceções oriental e ocidental, e analisa-se o significado do silêncio no discurso e na espiritualidade. No discurso, o silêncio é uma linguagem não-verbal importante e desempenha um papel vital na comunicação interpessoal. O silêncio tem uma característica cultural distinta, e transmite implicações diferentes em diferentes culturas. Além disso, os significados distintivos influenciam diferentes usos e atitudes em relação ao silêncio. Portanto, este trabalho tenta analisar as diferenças e semelhanças entre o silêncio nas conceções e práticas oriental e ocidental e também tenta descobrir as razões que contribuem para isso. Na espiritualidade, num mundo ruidoso e cheio de pressa como é o de hoje, o silêncio é uma forma de ligar com o lugar mais interior e mais profundo de nós, um elemento essencial de autodescoberta, e uma porta de entrada para a saúde, felicidade e alegria. O significado do silêncio no mundo espiritual é explorado e estudado neste trabalho, analisando o seu significado nas religiões e filosofias orientais e ocidentais. Este trabalho apresenta e compara o significado do silêncio nas conceções oriental e ocidental. O objetivo é também analisar os fatores que causam as diferenças entre o Oriente e o Ocidente e perceber o choque e o intercâmbio de diferentes culturas, esperando assim promover e reforçar o intercâmbio cultural entre o Oriente e o Ocidente através da compreensão mútua.

This paper presents the dimensions of silence in Eastern and Western conceptions, and analyzes the significance of silence in discourse and spirituality. In discourse, silence is an important nonverbal language and plays a vital role in interpersonal communication. Silence has a distinct cultural characteristic, and conveys different implications in different cultures. Moreover, distinctive meanings influence different uses of and attitudes toward silence. Therefore, this paper attempts to analyze the differences and similarities between silence in Eastern and Western conceptions and practices, and also tries to find out the reasons that contribute to it. In spirituality, in a noisy and hurried world like today's, silence is a way to connect with the innermost and deepest place within us, an essential element of self-discovery, and a gateway to health, happiness, and joy. The meaning of silence in the spiritual world is explored and studied in this paper, analyzing its significance in Eastern and Western religions and philosophies. This paper presents and compares the meaning of silence in Eastern and Western conceptions. It also aims to analyze the factors that cause the differences between the East and the West and to realize the clash and exchange of different cultures, thus hoping to promote and strengthen the cultural exchange between East and West through mutual understanding.
