Sobre um passado presente: narrativa visual das aldeias serranas do Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês

Abstract

A presente investigação pretenderá estudar as mais diversas intervenções do ser humano na região do Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês. Servir-se-á da imagem fotográfica como instrumento de análise, com o propósito de criar uma narrativa sobre a ocupação secular da paisagem, e consequentemente da relação entre as suas gentes e o território. Assim, refletir-se-á sobre a necessidade de reconhecer com o olhar o território para assim melhor entendê-lo. Num primeiro momento procurar-se-á com esta investigação compreender a realidade do mundo rural, que se tem fragilizado progressivamente. Desta forma a narrativa visual retratará as várias intervenções na paisagem das populações de montanha, desde a pequena até à grande escala. A permanência no lugar permitiu compreender melhor a complexidade do meio rural, o que resultará num olhar demorado e repetido sobre as montanhas da Peneda-Gerês. Por fim, complementar-se-á à missão fotográfica antes realizada, com uma proposta de revitalização de técnicas tradicionais que apenas existe na memória de algumas pessoas. O projeto pretenderá incluir a população residente na Aldeia de Vilarinho de Souto, resultando numa atividade participativa, que visa reconhecer a importância da intervenção tanto para a comunidade como também para a própria dissertação.

This research will aim to study the most diverse human interventions in the region of Peneda-Gerês National Park. It will use the image as an instrument of analysis, with the purpose of creating a narrative about the secular occupation of the landscape, and consequently the relationship between its people and the territory. Thus, we will reflect on the need to recognize the territory with a view to better understand it. Initially, this research will seek to understand the reality of the rural world, which has been progressively weakened. In this way the visual narrative will portray the various interventions in the landscape of mountain populations, from the small to the large scale. The stay in the place allowed to better understand the complexity of the rural environment, which will result in a lengthy and repeated look over the mountains of the Peneda-Gerês. Finally, shall complement the photographic mission previously undertaken, in an exercise to revitalize traditional techniques that only exists in the memory of some people. The proposal intends to include the population living in the village of Vilarinho de Souto, resulting in a participatory activity, which aims to recognize the importance of the intervention both for the community and for the dissertation itself.
