Tutoría inteligente para mejorar los resultados de aprendizaje: un enfoque en inteligencia ambiente

Abstract

Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) aims to adapt to the student's profile, applying the techniques that best suit each of them to obtain better learning results. Some of the tutors on the market only assess the student's emotional state at the end of the work sessions, which alone is not enough to improve learning. However, many existing platforms do not consider the student's profile and emotional state, making the system very rigid. The ideal would be to have a system that monitors students' profiles and emotions with intelligent environments and affective computing to improve learning. This work aims to consider the student's interaction with the system, relating emotions, and behaviour, applying techniques that best adapt to obtain the best learning results. The proposed system is based on the basic structure of an ITS (Domain, Student, Tutor, and Interface). The main objective is to create a network with different modules. Each module will be responsible for monitoring and classifying mood, emotions, and student involvement in learning. The system has two functions. The first will analyze the student's profile on this way to learn. The second will analyze the student's execution of tasks, such as the time needed to finish the activities, the grades obtained, the mistakes made, etc. At the same time, the functionality of peripheral devices is also monitored and analyzed. The use of the mouse and keyboard is supervised to determine anxiety, attention, and performance. All these functions allow the system to automatically adapt each student's tasks to improve the student's results and involvement.

O Sistema de Tutoria Inteligente (ITS) visa adaptar-se ao perfil do aluno, aplicando as técnicas que melhor se adaptam a cada um deles, para obter melhores resultados de aprendizagem. Alguns tutores existentes no mercado só avaliam o estado emocional do aluno no final das sessões de trabalho, o que por si só não é suficiente para melhorar a aprendizagem. No entanto, muitas das plataformas existentes não consideram o perfil do aluno nem o seu estado emocional, o que torna o sistema muito rígido. O ideal seria ter um sistema que supervisione o perfil e as emoções do aluno em ambientes inteligentes e computação afetiva para melhorar a aprendizagem. Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo a interação do aluno com o sistema, relacionando emoções e comportamento, aplicando técnicas que melhor se adaptem a cada um para obter os melhores resultados de aprendizagem. O sistema proposto é baseado na estrutura básica de um ITS (Domínio, Aluno, Tutor e Interface). A sua principal função é criar uma rede com diferentes módulos. Cada módulo será responsável por supervisionar e classificar o humor, as emoções e o envolvimento do aluno na aprendizagem. O sistema tem duas grandes funções. A primeira será analisar o perfil do aluno nesta forma de aprender. A segunda será analisar a execução das tarefas realizadas pelo aluno, como o tempo necessário para terminar as atividades, as notas obtidas, os erros cometidos, etc. Ao mesmo tempo, a funcionalidade dos dispositivos periféricos também será supervisionada e analisada. A utilização do rato e do teclado será supervisionado para determinar ansiedade, atenção e desempenho. Todas essas partes permitem que o sistema se adapte automaticamente às tarefas de cada aluno para melhorar os resultados da aprendizagem, assim como o envolvimento do aluno nas referidas atividades.
