Clima de segurança, engagement, motivação de segurança, comportamentos de segurança: um estudo no setor industrial

Abstract

No mundo atual das organizações, cada vez mais a segurança no trabalho é a chave para um bom funcionamento da empresa. Para isso, é necessário que a organização crie condições, através da implementação de medidas de segurança, que motivem todos os trabalhadores em contribuir para tornar o seu local de trabalho num ambiente seguro, através de comportamentos de segurança. O presente projeto teve como principal objetivo contribuir para o estudo da relação entre o clima de segurança, a motivação de segurança e os comportamentos de segurança, assim como para a análise da relação entre o engagement, a motivação de segurança e os comportamentos de segurança. Participaram 77 trabalhadores operários do setor industrial (setores mais afetados por acidentes mortais em Portugal). Obteve-se como resultado relações positivas estatisticamente significativas entre as variáveis, consistentes com a literatura recente na área. Este estudo alerta sobre a importância da implementação das regras de segurança e adoção de comportamentos de segurança.

In the current world of organizations, safety at work is increasingly the key to a well-functioning company. For this, it is necessary that the organization creates conditions through the implementation of safety measures that motivate all workers to contribute to making their workplace a safe environment, through safety behaviors. The main goal of this project was to contribute to the study of the relation between the safety climate, safety motivation and safety behaviors, as well as to the analysis of the relation between engagement, safety motivation and safety behaviors. There were 77 workers from the industrial sector (the most affected sector by fatal accidents in Portugal) in this study. As a result, there were obtained statistically significant positive relations between the variables, consistent with the literature in the area. This study warns about the importance of implementing security policies and adopting security behaviours.
