Análise e desenvolvimento de uma solução Business Intelligence para Supply Chain: caso prático

Abstract

A realização de tarefas dentro dos padrões de qualidade é uma meta de qualquer organização. Nesse plano a Logística procura melhoria contínua dos processos da supply chain, nomeadamente da gestão de fluxos de pedidos de cliente, confirmação e encomendas ao fornecedor, transporte, receção de material em armazém, produção, embalagem e entregas ao cliente. Esta necessidade é preenchida pelo conceito de Business Intelligence (BI). A Bosch, empresa focada em melhorias de processos e redução de custos da sua supply chain para tornar o seu negócio mais rentável, procura fornecer aos seus clientes materiais com a melhor qualidade do mercado ao melhor preço possível de forma a ganhar vantagem sobre a concorrência. Para que isso se torne possível, a gestão da supply chain lida com contratos e encomendas a fornecedores e gestão de inventário. Este projeto foi motivado pela necessidade de melhorar o acesso a toda a informação logística da organização. Enquanto que no sistema de reporting antigo a informação era fornecida em folhas de cálculo extraídas de transações SAP, com a implementação da solução Business Intelligence aumentou-se a qualidade e reduziu-se o tempo dispendido nas análises dos planeadores. Esta dissertação reflete a observação de todas as variáveis que direta ou indiretamente influenciaram a implementação do projeto. Deste modo, contém o estudo de tecnologias e metodologias utilizadas.

The quality standards are key to every major organisation. The logistics department focuses on improving the supply chain processes, namely the client requests, the demanad confirmation, the orders to the supplier, transportation, material reception, production, packaging and the deliveries to the client. The information system is crucial to improve these topics in the organizations and Business Intelligence (BI) is the chosen technology to handle the information. Bosch focuses on process improving and decreasing the supply chain costs in order to keep the profitability and also provide to the custumers high quality products at a competitive price. This project refers to the topic of stock management and supplier orders. The SAP knowledge was key to the success of the project. Intead of the SAP, the data source used was the SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server (SLT), this allowed to access the SAP tables in real-time. The SLT is an Oracle database which eases the integration in a BI solution. Previously, there was no direct access to the raw data because the SAP restricts the information in transactions in its final way of visualization. This project originated in the necessity of automate the acces to all the updated information. The solution was to collect in singular extractions all the required information to a faster analysis by the planners through direct queries in PL/SQL to the Oracle database. Also, dashboards were created to improve the information visualization and the data quality, which were created using Power BI software. While in the previous reporting system the information was provided in Excel tables extracted of the SAP, with this Business Intelligence solution the quality was improved and the time spent analyzing was shortened. this document reflects the understanding of all the variables that direct or indirectly affect the projat implementation. This way, contains the study of used technologies and methodologies, the state of the art and the Bosch philosophy.
