Resumo(s)This research work focused on the investigation of the impact behaviour of fiber reinforced polimeric laminates (FRP) reinforced with flax and carbon fiber. For this purpose, the effects of the type of fiber on the energy absorption have been investigated as well as the influence of the impact area as regards to the impact behaviour. Different combination of hybrid laminates, using different angle plies, were evaluated under low velocity impact tests. Bio-based fiber reinforcements are increasing its potential towards. The hybrid laminate produced with carbon and flax fibers exhibit the higher energy absorption. This research work shows a potential application of natural fibers for personal protection applications in combination with nonnatural fibres in composite materials.
