Perturbações emocionais e comportamentais na sobredotação

Abstract

Nas últimas duas décadas a literatura sobre sobredotação tem vindo a evidenciar um crescente interesse sobre as características socioemocionais e comportamentais de sujeitos sobredotados. Apesar dos avanços, a investigação sobre perturbações socioemocionais e comportamentais na sobredotação revela alguma inconsistência. Alguns autores sugerem que os sobredotados apresentam uma predisposição para desenvolver dificuldades socioemocionais e comportamentais, enquanto outros sugerem o contrário. O objetivo geral deste Projecto é traçar as linhas gerais de uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre perturbações socioemocionais e comportamentais na sobredotação. Espera-se, com este Projecto, definir os passos dessa revisão e desenvolver uma maior compreensão sobre esta problemática.

In the last two decades the literature on gifted individuals has shown a growing interest on the socio- emotional and behavioral characteristics of gifted individuals. Despite the advances, research on socio- emotional and behavioral disorders in gifted subjects reveals some inconsistency. Some authors suggest that gifted subjects have a predisposition to develop socio-emotional and behavioral difficulties, while others suggest the opposite. The overall objective of this Project is to outline a systematic review of the literature on socio-emotional and behavioral disorders in overdevelopment. It is hoped that this Project will define the steps of this review and develop a greater understanding of this issue.
