Estudo sobre a disciplina de introdução à informática nas engenharias

Abstract

A apresentação de um referencial de plano de estudos para as disciplinas de Introdução à Informática nas Engenharias (IIE) é o objectivo geral deste trabalho. Existem vários e importantes factores que interferem directamente com o sistema educativo e que constituíram um forte incentivo para a sua realização. Vive-se numa altura de profundas reformas do próprio sistema, quer a nível Internacional – consequência da aplicação das ecomendações decorrentes do Processo de Bolonha - quer ao nível Nacional, através das reformas no ensino secundário e no ensino superior, decorrentes de várias e recentes alterações dos diferentes diplomas que os regulam. O estudo das IIE reflecte o resultado de diversas abordagens: - a engenharia, a tecnologia, as tecnologias da informação (TI), o estudo e análise dos factores que mais têm contribuído para as mudanças sentidas no ensino da engenharia em geral e nas Tecnologias de Informação em particular, assim como o estudo dos programas de acreditação das instituições responsáveis pelos cursos de engenharia de diversos países e as recomendações daí resultantes, relativas às TI, que possibilitaram definir o perfil do moderno engenheiro. O estudo e análise dos programas da disciplina de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) leccionada no ensino secundário, o conhecimento dos seus resultados de aprendizagem e das competências desenvolvidas nos estudantes nesse ramo de ensino permitiu ligar as TIC com as IIE. O estudo dos curricula das IIE em universidades de referência permitiu o seu conhecimento, os temas a leccionar e a sua importância no contexto dos cursos de engenharia em que se integram. Saber o que os outros fazem é importante para se poder fazer tão bem ou melhor. Este trabalho conduziu-nos à apresentação de um referencial de plano de estudos das IIE onde se definem as competências a desenvolve, programas para as IIE que incluem os resultados de aprendizagem pretendidos, os conteúdos a leccionar, sugestões metodológicas a implementar e orientações curriculares e modelos de ensino a esse estudo associadas. Apresenta-se também uma proposta referencial final para as IIE, com as disciplinas a leccionar, os créditos a atribuir para os temas a abordar de modo a constituir uma referência para leccionação das IIE e ajustando-se no perfil do moderno engenheiro.

The presentation of a study plan proposal of Introduction to Informatic in engineering (IIE) courses is the aim of this work. Nowadays there are several and very important factors that directly interfere with the educational system and that are highly motivating for the fulfilment of this work. On the one hand we are facing great reforms within the educational system itself, not only at international level – as a consequence of the implementation of the Bologne Process recommendations – but also in our country, due to curricula alterations in the high school, as well as in university, within the several and latest alterations of the different diplomas which regulate them. The study of the IIE reflects the result of the different approaches: – engineering, technology, Information Technologies (IT), the study and analysis of the factors that have most contributed to the changes operated in the teaching of the engineering and particulary in the IT education, the study of Accreditation Standards and Procedures for Engineering Programmes in different countries and the recommendations about IT, that made possible the definition of the modern engineer profile. The study and analysis of the programmes of the Information Technologies and Communication (ITC) subjects taught in high school, the awareness of its learning results and of the developed skills in the students has allowed to connect the ITC with IIE. The study of the curricula of the IIE in reference universities has allowed its knowledge, the themes to teach and its importance in the context of the engineering graduations that they integrate. Knowing what the others are doing is important to do as well or better. This work brought us to the presentation of a study plan proposal of IIE where the eveloping competences are defined as well as programming proposals to the IIE that include the results of the desired learning results and the contents to teach and where methodology suggestions to implement are presented and curricular orientations and teaching models associated to the study. We also present a final proposal to the IIE, with the courses to teach, the credits to attribute to the themes to approach so as to constitute a reference for the IIE teaching, adjusting itself to the modern engineer profile.
