Estágio na Fundação Eça de Queiroz: a tradução no contexto turístico-literário

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio realizado no âmbito do Mestrado de Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue relata o estágio curricular com uma duração de quatro meses na Fundação Eça de Queiroz. Este estágio teve como objetivo principal a tradução e revisão do website da Fundação com língua de partida o português e as línguas de chegada, o inglês e o espanhol, assim como outras atividades adicionais relacionadas com a tradução e a comunicação multilingue. Este relatório em primeiro lugar tem uma apresentação da instituição acolhedora e enumeração detalhada das atividades realizadas ao longo do estágio. Em segundo lugar apresenta um enquadramento teórico acerca do turismo e a sua definição. De seguida, enfoca-se no turismo internacional e nacional, tipos de turismo, e ainda uma interligação entre o turismo e a tradução. Para terminar, salienta as metodologias de tradução, dificuldades e ferramentas e recursos utilizados na tradução. Em terceiro lugar apresenta a reflexão e análise do trabalho desenvolvido ao longo do estágio, uma exposição do conteúdo em dados quantitativos e, em seguida, as suas características e dificuldades assim como a resolução dos problemas. Por fim, uma conclusão que reflete acerca do trabalho realizado e onde as temáticas do turismo e da tradução são interligadas e expostas de forma a apresentar a sua importância e também a necessidade de continuar a realizar estágios curriculares dentro da área.

The following internship report was carried out in the Translation and Multilingual Communication Master’s Degree upon which describes the curricular internship with a four-month duration at the Eça de Queiroz Foundation. This internship’s main goal was the translation and revision of the Foundation’s website. Portuguese as the source language and English and Spanish as the target languages, as well as other additional activities related to translation. Firstly, this report has an introduction about the receiving institution and a detailed numeration of the activities carried throughout the internship. Secondly, it presents a theoretical framework about tourism and its definition, about international and national tourism, types of tourism, and also the connection between tourism and translation. It also mentions translation methodologies, problems encountered and translation tools and resources. Thirdly, it has a reflection and analysis of the work developed throughout the internship, a presentation of the work in quantitative data, followed by its characteristics, difficulties and problem solving. Lastly, there is a conclusion where a precise reflection about the work is made and where the themes of tourism and translation are connected and described in order to present its importance, and also the need to carrying out curricular internships within the area.
