No presente trabalho é
This dissertation focus on the problem of payload transportation by teams of autonomous mobile robots that act in coordination. The team uses a leader-helper strategy and the control architectures are formalized, recurring to the dynamic attractors approach to behavior based robotics. On previously developed works there is explicit communication between the leader robot and the helper robot (in the form of heading directions). In this dissertation one develops a module that allows the helper to estimate that information, thus eliminating the need to explicit communication. This contribution will allow the team of robots to move in environments in which communication is restricted, it adds robustness in environments in which the communication is noisy, or it even allows the leader robot to be replaced with a human, in a transparent way from the robot helper’s point of view, since it will have the capacity to act independently. An Extended Kalman Filter was used for the development of the module that estimates the heading direction of the leader robot. As input, this module uses information provided by the measures obtained for the position, orientation and velocity of the leader robot, calculated from the sensorial information gathered from the payload support base in the helper robot. To validate the solution, experimental tests were conducted, in a simulated environment and in a real environment, where different situations were portrayed. The results obtained in simulated environments allows us to conclude that the presented solution is robust, efficient for different environments, without compromising the transportation task. |
