Leituras e leitores: dinamização literácica e cultural num espaço bibliotecário

Abstract

As bibliotecas são espaços de difusão cultural e promoção de literacias. Contudo, quando o esforço por aproximá-los das populações, pela sua inclusão em juntas de freguesia, não é reconhecido pelos cidadãos, na forma de afluência e interação com os mesmos, surge a necessidade de investigar o fenómeno dos hábitos de leitura, e a vontade de promover uma intervenção que os procure influenciar. Esta é premissa na origem do presente relatório, texto que descreve uma abordagem na aproximação entre leituras e leitores. Na tentativa de (re)construir relações de vivência com o texto escrito argumenta-se que a experiência da leitura compagina diferentes dimensões, e que a leitura do texto e do mundo se complementam. O mesmo propósito leva à distinção entre alfabetização e literacia, abrindo um continuum literácico que justifica a importância da leitura e da escrita nas novas mundividências. Por fim, articula-se o desfasamento entre uma população com fracos hábitos de leitura e a urgência em fortalecer narrativas identitárias propostas pela cidadania ativa e a fruição cultural. Tendo como destinatários um grupo de pessoas que não se conheciam previamente, foi proposta uma intervenção no sentido de as envolver em “leituras” a partir de diferentes fontes de informação. Dinamizada a partir de oficinas que se articularam em atividades, esta intervenção deu primazia à diversificação de contextos em detrimento da divulgação de conteúdos, pese embora um olhar atento sobre a atualidade se tenha refletido na integração de alguns destes referenciais. O grupo de discussão foi a técnica usada para convocar experiências e promover interação discursiva, na senda de diferentes leituras. A reflexão escrita foi também catalisadora desse processo, tendo ainda servido para desconstruir a inacessibilidade desta tarefa.

Libraries are places of cultural diffusion and promotion of literacies. However, when the effort to bring them closer to the population, by its inclusion in parish councils, is not recognized by the citizens, in the form of affluence and interactions with them, there is a need to investigate the phenomenon of reading habits, and a desire to promote an intervention that seek to influence them. This is the premise in the origin of this report, a text that describes an approach to bring together readings and readers. In an attempt to (re)build living relationships with the written text, it argues that the reading experience combines different dimensions, and that the reading of the text and of the world complement each other. The same purpose leads to distinction between alphabetization and literacy, opening a literacical continuum that justifies the importance of reading and writing in the new worldviews. Finally, it articulates the gap between a population with poor reading habits, and the urgency to strengthen identity narratives proposed by the active citizenship and cultural enjoyment. Having as receiver a group of people who previously did not know each other, an intervention was proposed to engage them in "readings" from different sources of information. Streamlined on workshops articulated in activities, this intervention gave priority to diversification of contexts, over the dissemination of content, despite a close eye on the present has been reflected in the integration of some of these references. The discussion group was the technique used to summon experiences and promote discursive interaction, on the path from different readings. Written reflection was also a catalyst of that process, and also served to deconstruct the inaccessibility of this task.
