Interpretação e representação da inconstância do entre terra-água de Ovar

Abstract

A presente investigação consiste numa análise, interpretação e representação do caráter inconstante do entre terra-água de Ovar. O caráter inconstante vivido pela autora e a coexistência do passado no presente do lugar são o mote para a estruturação desta investigação, explorando o conceito na sua relação com o tempo. A partir desta relação conceito-tempo, a presente dissertação cria uma representação cronológica do lugar desde os seus primeiros povoamentos no ano 3000 a.C. até a atualidade, dividida por períodos temporais, com base no cruzamento das documentações bibliográficas/históricas e cartográficas e do trabalho in situ, - considerando o lugar como uma fonte de conhecimento para esta investigação. A temática, transversal na análise e representação do lugar, é desdobrada em três diferentes formas correspondentes a diferentes aproximações ao lugar. A inconstância física aborda a análise da transformação topográfica e hidrográfica do lugar, focando-se assim na totalidade da Ria de Aveiro transpondo os limites do concelho de Ovar. É está inconstância do suporte físico que influência a inconstância funcional, ou seja, a inconstância das funções do lugar e atividades realizadas pelos Ovarenses que variam segundo a inconstância física. Este entre a inconstância física e funcional é desdobrado em três aproximações: Marinhas, Gelfa e Furadouro. Por fim é também analisada a inconstância social do lugar, evidente sobretudo após o século XVI quando se dá o fenómeno da emigração. A complementaridade entre conceito, lugar, tempo e representação, constituiu a metodologia transversal que estrutura toda a investigação, demonstrando que o lugar é uma base impermanente sujeita a transformações ao longo do tempo que se fazem transparecer no presente.

The present research consists in an analysis, interpretation and representation of the inconstant character of the in between land/water of Ovar. The inconstant character lived by the author and the coexistence of the past in the present of the place, exploring the concept in its relation with time. From this relation concepttime, this dissertation creates a chronological representation of the site since 3000 a.C. until the present day, divided by time periods, based on the crossing of bibliographic / historical and cartographical documentations with working done in situ - considering the place itself as a source of knowledge to the research. The theme, transversal in the analysis and representation of the place, is unfolded in three different forms corresponding to different approaches towards the site. The physical inconstancy addresses the analysis of the topographic and hydrographic transformations of the place, focusing on the totality of the Aveiro Lagoon - transposing the municipality limits of Ovar. It is this inconstancy of the physical support that influences the functional performed by the inhabitants of Ovar, which vary according to the physical inconstancy. This in between the physical and functional inconstancy is unfolded in three approaches: Marinhas, Gelfa and Furadouro. Lastly, it is also analyzed the social inconstancy of the site, which became evident in the XVI century with the beginning of the emigration phenomenon. The complementarity between concept, place, time and representation, constitutes a transversal methodology that structures the whole research, demonstrating that the place is an inconstant base subject to transformations over the time which reflect themselves in the present.
