redução do craving alimentar.
Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of tDCS over the DLPFC and of cognitive training on reduction of food craving. However it remains unclear whether those effects are hemisphere-dependent, if they are increased by simultaneous cognitive training and also, if tDCS has an effect on implicit food preferences. Thirty-six healthy volunteers were randomly distributed to one condition of cross-hemispheric tDCS over DLPFC (1. LC-RA, 2. LA-RC or 3. Sham), coupled with cognitive training of avoidance of chocolate cues. The primary aim of this study was to assess the effects these interventions on implicit preference for chocolate, while the secondary aim was to access its effects on general food craving and chocolate craving (self-report measures). A reduction of the implicit preference for chocolate and self-report craving measures was expected, specially for active conditions. Results show that cognitive training alone or the combined intervention have no effect on reduction of implicit preference for chocolate or self-reported craving. However, the results suggest that involvement of DLPFC depends critically on laterality. |
