A “Ruina” pós industrial: (re) ativação da “Fábrica da Alvorada”

Abstract

As cidades são por natureza aquilo que Aneta Szylak define para os edifícios, como um palimpsesto. Esta definição transporta uma ideia subjacente de que nos é permitido rescrever a cidade, sempre que o seu conteúdo se esgota. Os edifícios ou espaços pós-industriais dominam um pouco por todo a europa a imagem das cidades, sobretudo aquelas que foram sujeitos ao processo de industrialização que marcaram os Séc. XIX/XX, no caso concreto, a Cidade de Fafe integrada na região do Vale do Ave. O trabalho apresentado tem por base esta síntese e incide na antiga “Fábrica da Alvorada”, edifício atualmente em ruinas, e procura perceber e especular sobre aspetos que tem que ver com a arquitetura, com a história e com a posição que este edifício assume na cidade pós-industrial. Assumindo como valido e pertinente a ideia de que este é um edifício palimpséstico1, na qual é possível discernir as sobreposições que se verificaram ao longo da sua história, pretende-se que seja possível rescrever e acrescentar novas funções, novos usos, que correspondem à época de hoje ao mesmo tempo que se preservam os vestígios do seu passado. A proposta resultará na análise do contexto urbano, assim como, da visão particular daqueles que habitam a cidade, daqueles que a administram e daqueles que fizeram parte da história da antiga “Fábrica da Alvorada”.

Cities are by nature what Aneta Szylak sets for buildings, as a palimpsest. This definition carries an underlying idea that we are allowed to rewrite the city, where its content is exhausted. Buildings or post-industrial spaces dominate all over europe the image of cities, especially those who were subjected to the process of industrialization that marked the century. XIX / XX, in this case, the Cidade de Fafe integrated in Região do Vale do Ave. The work presented is based on this synthesis and focuses on the ancient "Fábrica da Alvorada", building now in ruins, and attempts to understand and speculate on aspects that have to do with architecture, with history and with the position that this building takes on post-industrial city. Assuming as valid and applicable the idea that this is a palimpsest2 building in which it is possible to discern the overlaps that have occurred throughout its history, which is intended to be possible to rewrite and acrescentar new functions, new uses, which correspond the time of day at the same time it preserves the traces of its past. The proposal will result in the analysis of the urban context, as well as the saw is particularly those who live in the city, those who manage and those who were part of the old story, “Fábrica da Alvorada".
