Ação social solidária: caminhos de educação de adultos e intervenção comunitária

Abstract

O presente relatório reporta-se a uma investigação/intervenção no âmbito de um estágio profissionalizante referente ao Mestrado em Educação, Área de Especialização em Educação de Adultos e Intervenção Comunitária, do Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho. O relatório apresenta e avalia o projeto “Ação Social Solidária: Caminhos de Educação de Adultos e Intervenção Comunitária” que decorreu no Serviço de Ação Social da Câmara Municipal de Esposende, tendo como público-alvo diversos segmentos populacionais da comunidade desse concelho. O projeto teve como objetivos gerais a promoção da Educação ao Longo da Vida, o melhoramento das condições de vida dos munícipes e a dinamização da Loja Social Rede Solidária de Esposende. A Educação de Adultos é uma necessidade premente na sociedade de hoje, na medida em que esta se encontra em constante mutação. Face às exigências da sociedade atual, as populações precisam de dar respostas às mesmas, sob pena de exclusão social. O modelo educativo tradicional deixa de ser suficiente para acompanhar as mudanças emergentes, tornando-se essencial a promoção de uma aprendizagem permanente, desenvolvida ao longo de toda a vida. A Educação ao Longo da Vida pode dar-se tanto dentro como fora do sistema educativo formal, podendo dar-se na escola, em família ou mesmo em comunidade. O projeto aliou a Educação de Adultos à Intervenção Comunitária e utilizou como método de investigação/intervenção a investigação-ação-participativa ,dado ter apostado, desde o primeiro instante, na transformação participada de situações- problemas tanto individuais quanto coletivas.

The following report is part of a research/intervention within a professional traineeship from the Master’s degree in Education, specialization in Adult Education and Community Intervention of the Institute of Education at the University of Minho. The report presents and evaluates the project “Solidary Social Work: Paths of Adult Education and Community Intervention” held at the Department of Social Action of the City Hall of Esposende. The target audiences of the project were several population segments of the community of Esposende. The project aimed to promote (the) Lifelong Learning, to improve the living conditions of the citizens and also to boost the Solidarity Network Social Store at Esposende. Adult Education is a pressing need in today’s society once it is constantly changing. In line with the needs of modern society, the population needs to attend these needs lest they don’t suffer from social exclusion. The traditional model of education is no longer enough to keep up with the emerging changes, making it essential to promote a permanent learning, developed throughout life. The Lifelong Learning can happen both inside and outside the formal education system, and may happen in schools, within the family or even in the community. The project combined Adult Education and Community Intervention and used the participatory action research as a research/intervention method given that, since the first moment, it relies on a participated transformation of situations and problems both individual and collective.
