Abstract

The observation of living organisms, based on the biology, has been increasingly applied in the development of new products, generating better functional capabilities to improve the performance of the user. According to Hawken (2007), the human species has been developing and evolving since the beginning, through observation of the behavior of other life. In view of these observations, the human has adapted to ensure their survival until today.Mimicry has been, since some time, an important design tool applied to the development of new products for the welfare of the human species, making them an important factor in the requirement for survival in the present day, providing improved ease in daily tasks, protection, comfort and aesthetics.
