acção do vento. It was looked in the present work to evaluate the stability of masonry walls of horizontally perforated clay units without structural function in that it concerns to the serviceability limit states and the ultimate limit states, nominated under the effect of vertical and horizontal actions, as well as, to analyze under the point of view of deformations the interaction of these with the support structure. The masonry walls, on which this study happened, had been the simple walls in masonry of horizontally perforated clay units, with two types of thicknesses, having been considered for such the horizontally perforated clay units 30x20x11cm and 30x20x15cm, because there are the walls most used in the constructions, nowadays. The masonry walls of horizontally perforated clay units chosen for the study had been characterized under the point of view of mechanical behaviour, using two distinct types of resting mortars of the ceramic elements: a mortar of cement and sand with a volumetric trace of 1:5 and a mixed mortar of cement, air-lime and sand with a volumetric trace of 1:2:9. The reason of this choice, inhabits in the fact of the first mortar, to have a composition currently used in the resting of the masonry of brick, being the choice of the mixed mortar motivated for the search of a mortar that can lead to one better adaptation of the wall to the deformations. Laboratory tests had been carried out destined to evaluate, for the experimental way, some of the main necessary mechanical characteristics for one correct verification of the stability of the masonry. However, some mechanical characteristics of the brick walls had been determined of theoretical form, from the experimental knowledge of the mechanical characteristics of the components of these same walls. They had been, also, carried out tests "in situ" with models at real scale, in the purpose to compare the behaviour, in terms of deformations, of the simple wall with 11cm of thickness, using the two types of resting mortar. Numerical analysis had been, carried out to got the values of the experimental way, of form to be surpassed the results for cases particular and analyzed some singular points of the walls. Results of the tests and the numerical evaluation carried out, had allowed to conclude that the presented values of deformation in the existing regulation, for structures of reinforced concrete, are incompatible with the deformation of the masonry walls. They had been, also, established the maximum limits for masonry panels of brick under effect of the wind action. |
