A tradição socrática na sala de aula

Abstract

O presente trabalho intitulado A Tradição Socrática na Sala de Aula é o relatório de estágio em Ensino da Filosofia no Ensino Secundário que decorreu no ano lectivo de 2010/2011 na Escola Secundária Alberto Sampaio – Braga, numa turma do 10º ano, onde se leccionou ética, filosofia política e filosofia da religião. Nele se defende que a melhor forma de ensinar filosofia no ensino secundário é praticar na sala de aula a tradição socrática, ou seja, a tradição que estimula a compreensão, a discussão e o exame crítico entre os alunos dos problemas, teorias, argumentos e conceitos da filosofia. O relatório divide-se em quatro capítulos. No primeiro esclarecemos os problemas que impulsionaram esta reflexão, o plano que se seguiu e o contexto onde se praticou a tradição socrática. No segundo capítulo, reflectimos sobre os vícios mais recorrentes no ensino da filosofia. No terceiro capítulo abordamos pormenorizadamente a herança, a natureza, a relevância e os elementos da filosofia de tradição socrática. Finalmente, no quarto capítulo, relatamos o que concretizamos na prática quanto ao método do ensino da filosofia aqui defendido. Para além dos capítulos centrais, o relatório contém, ainda, uma introdução, uma conclusão, uma bibliografia e um apartado de anexos.

The present paper, entitled The Socratic Tradition in the Classroom, is the report of the internship in Teaching Philosophy in High School which took place in the academic year of 2010/2011 in the Alberto Sampaio High School - Braga, during the course of which ethics, political philosophy and religion were taught. It is argued therein that the best way to teach philosophy in secondary school is to practice the Socratic tradition within the classroom, which is to say the tradition that stimulates the understanding, discussion and critical examination among students of the problems, theories, arguments and concepts of philosophy. The report is divided into four chapters. The first aims to clarify the problems that triggered this reflection, the plan which followed and the context in which the Socratic tradition was put into practice. In the second chapter, we reflected on the most recurrent vices in the teaching of philosophy. In the third chapter, we address in detail the heritage, nature, relevance and the elements in the philosophy of Socratic tradition. Finally, in the fourth chapter, we report what we achieved in practice regarding the method for teaching philosophy defended herein. Apart from the central chapters, the report contains, in addition, an introduction, a bibliography and a supplement of annexes.
