estabelecimento prisional do norte do país.
Negligencia e Abuso Psico-emocional e Violência Vicariante.
vítimas de amanhã.“ The present study aims to understand the extent to which the inmate population, in a Prison in the north of Portugal, presents or not victimization of physical, verbal abuse, psychosocial and vicarious-abuse, and posteriorly, to understand what is the extent of the conceptualization of overlap victim/aggressor, well grounded in international literature, takes shape in a specific context of research. The main objectives are to describe situations if there is prevalence of victimization, throughout life, in terms of classification of victimization inflicted: physical, verbal, neglect and abuse psycho-emotional and indirect violence and vicarious. After confirming this prevalence, it is also intended to describe what kind of violence was more prevalent in the course of these individuals. It was created a list of perpetrators of violence, and it was an objective to describe who was primarily responsible for the violence. Another objective was guided by the description of existing or not, some dependency between residential area and a specific type of victimization. Finally, the last objective describes whether there is or not dependence between the fact of having suffered physical violence and committed crimes against people. To meet these objectives, we created the QV - Victimization Questionaire - where different situations are described that are related to four types of victimization and who committed them. The study involved 100 subjects, male, institutionalized in a prison in the north of Portugal. The results suggested that, in fact, individuals have been, throughout life, subject to various types of violence, 82.8% of cases were subjected to four types of victimization statements - whether physical violence, verbal abuse, neglect and abuse Psycho -emotional and vicarious violence. However, with regard to the most prevalent type of victimization, the data showed no significant differences, yet the secondary victimization / vicarious stood out. So, being victimization, lifelong, a reality of this population, emerges as important to intervene and deconstruct this cycle, in order to prevent: "Victims of yesterday are today's criminal" and "criminals today are often victims of tomorrow.
