Resumo(s)Bioactive fibrous materials are included on functional textiles with grown interest on medical, well-being, protection and hygienic applications. These products combine the performance of textile matrix with the activity of the compound incorporated. In present study, cotton was modified by reaction of monochlorotiazinyl β-cyclodextrin (CD) using impregnation and fixation processes. The optimum results in terms of CD fixation were obtained by impregnation of fabric with an aqueous solution of CD at pH5 (100gL-1), wet-pick up (80%) and thermo fixing at 210ºC during 1 minute. The treated samples don’t exhibited significant mechanical properties changes. Resveratrol, a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound, was used as model compound to bio functionalize cotton. The cotton with CD adsorbs and retain higher amount of compound than standard cotton in similar conditions. Besides, these materials showed to influence the resveratrol release in simulated acidic and basic sweat solutions.
