Passámos a
qual o papel do design nessa adaptação.
Higher Education Institutions have had to reinvent themselves in the face of the pandemic scenario we have gone through, from 2020 until today. Classes no longer took place in a room, where teachers and students share the same space — face-to-face teaching — to suddenly occur online, where teachers and students are separated by a screen — distance learning. The same happened with the non-teaching staff of Universities that, with all this new situation/condition, have come to adopt a way of working different from what they were used to — teleworking or remote work —, reinventing themselves as communicators, in order to continue to share messages to their targets. We came to recognize that online communication is unequivocally essential in the dissemination of mass messages, reaching a larger number of people, in a shorter period of time, and making the feedback to be received more immediately. We understood and realized then that online communication is increasingly intrinsic to how we communicate and who we are, especially in this last year of 2021. The purpose of this internship report is to understand how the pandemic caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus caused changes in academic institutional communication, how it has adapted itself to the online digital environment, particularly in social networks Facebook and Instagram, and what is the role of design in this adaptation. The analysis presented will focus on the Department of Communication Sciences of the University of Minho, since its communication is the responsibility of CreateLab, where the curricular internship that was the basis of this report took place. In this report a critical reflection is presented on the experience of a six-month curricular internship at the experimentation and innovation laboratory agency, CreateLab, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Following the analysis of this internship experience, we studied how communication and digital design can become important tools in helping the process of transmitting institutional messages and nurturing a good relationship between higher education organizations and their communities of students, teachers and staff. |
