Utilização de playalongs como referências metronómicas no estudo de alunos de trombone

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio relata o projeto de intervenção desenvolvido no âmbito do Estágio Profissional do Mestrado em Ensino de Música da Universidade do Minho, realizado no ano letivo 2020 -2021 na Escola Artística do Conservatório Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga, nos grupos disciplinares M19 –Trombone e M32 – Música de Câmara. O projeto de intervenção pedagógica teve como principal objetivo motivar alunos de trombone a estudar com metrónomo. Para alcançar esse objetivo, foi desenvolvida uma aplicação que disponibiliza playalongs cuja velocidade pode ser manipulada, uma vez que possui uma função de “Time Stretching. A metodologia de investigação adotada foi a investigação-ação. O impacto da intervenção pedagógica foi avaliado através dos seguintes instrumentos de recolha de dados: inquéritos por questionário aos alunos intervenientes (pré e pós-intervenção) e a docentes de instrumento; entrevista semiestruturada ao professor cooperante; diário de bordo e observação direta. Os resultados dos inquéritos aos docentes de instrumento revelaram que muitos já utilizam tecnologias como os playalongs no ensino vocacional na área da música e consideram que estas contribuem para a motivação dos alunos. Alguns procuram ainda alterar a sua velocidade em programas de edição de som ou no “Youtube”. No entanto, vários relataram o seu desconhecimento relativamente a este tipo de aplicação. Ao longo da intervenção foi possível perceber que este tipo de aplicação tem potencial para auxiliar o estudo de alunos de trombone, embora no caso de alunos mais desmotivados se tenha sentido mais dificuldade em entusiasmá-los a utilizar a aplicação no seu estudo em casa.

This internship report addresses the intervention projecte developed during the Professional Internship of the master’s degree in music education at the University of Minho, held in the 2020 -2021 school year at the Artistic School of the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Braga, in the disciplinary groups M19 – Trombone and M32 – Chamber Music. The pedagogical intervention project had as main objective to motivate trombone students to practice with metronome. In order to achieve such goal, an application providing playalongs and allowing to manipulate their speed ("Time Stretching”) was developed. The adopted methodology was action-research. The impact of the pedagogical intervention was evaluated through the following data: questionnaires to students who participated in the project (pre- and post-intervention) and to instrumental teachers; semistructured interview to the students’ main teacher; logbook and direct observation. The results from the questionnaires to the instrumental teachers revealed that many of them already use technologies such as playalongs in their music teaching and consider that they contribute to motivate the students. Some have already tried to manipulated speed in sound editing programmes or on Youtube. However, many revealed their lack of knowledge regarding this type of tool. Throughout the intervention it was possible to realize that this type of application has potential to help trombone students’ practice, although in the case of less motivated students it was harder do motivate them to use the application at home during practice.
