Resumo(s)The Radical Countess, so-called because she believed in the progressive government of the people, for the people, if not wholly by the people, Rosalind, (1845-1921) is largely forgotten today. However, in her time, and especially through her links with the Women’s Liberal Federation (WLF) and the British Women’s Temperance Association (BWTA) she was influential in Britain and, through her presidency of the hugely influential temperance organization the World Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WWCTU), she was influential in America too. This paper sheds light on the many facets of Rosalind Howard's life and work.
