Abstract(s)In this article I analyze Fernando Sor’s use of the rest, which in some of the composer’s works functions polysemously, i.e., conveys multiple meanings. Before I proceed with my analysis, and to better understand what is at issue, I will first clarify the meaning of a few terms.
