A União Europeia decidiu então encontrar soluções
acordo. O objetivo deste projeto visa manter a temperatura, a humidade e o nível
In Europe, only 2% of recently constructed buildings are based on “green projects”. Therefore, between 2007 and 2020 one of the goals would be the reduction of the energy consumption by 20%. However, the objectives for energy efficienty are still far away from accomplishment. To do that, many buildings such as residencial or commercial, need to be modified, although, the community is not willing to invest too much into habitations or buildings. Another negative factor is the need to modify buildings structure in order to improve the isolation, or new electrical installations, used in the systems to control the energy consumption of the building. As a result, he European Union decided to find solutions to encourage the habitants and companies to achieve the mentioned goal, without changing in the building structure. The main objective of this project is to create smart windows, capable to control the humidity, temperature and air quality inside a building. This system will be a contribution to reduce the energy consumption, and therefore, achieve the new energy efficiency objectives (the solution effectiveness allow an energetic performance 20% higher than the common windows). Moreover, the windows are powered only by batteries, which are recharged during the day by solar light. It is a low power system which uses renewable energy and increase the energy efficiency. Each window is composed by sensors, responsible to evaluate the air conditions inside the building, and automatically act accordingly. In addition to fulfill the European Union requirements, it improves the quality of life of the habitants. This system has two major advantages. the first one is the capability of reducing significantly the changes on buindings structures, and other is the easy system installation Climawin is a European project that started in 2010. There are already trial versions of this system, however there is not a final product. Was decided to create Climawin Demo, whose objective is upgrade and add functionalities to this system, and then realize some integration tests. At the end, will be done a demonstration of the working of the product, prior to its’ market entrance. There are still some parameters that require improvement and some need more functionalities to be added. The current work is being done in the University of Minho in order to provide a complete solution considering all the proposed requirements. |
