O efeito da indução de emoções na excitação sexual subjetiva

Abstract

Os estudos realizados com participantes femininos têm mostrado alguma evidência do efeito de emoções negativas na excitação sexual genital, mas não na excitação sexual subjetiva (Peterson & Janssen, 2007). O objetivo do presente estudo está em avaliar o efeito das emoções negativas básicas, nomeadamente, o medo e a tristeza, sob as respostas sexuais, nomeadamente, na excitação sexual subjetiva e fisiológica, em mulheres saudáveis. Um total de 51 mulheres experienciaram a indução de emoções de tristeza, neutras e de medo através de um vídeo editado com imagens de valência negativa (IAPS) e música clássica. Após a indução, as participantes foram expostas um vídeo erótico. Ao longo deste processo foram medidas as respostas subjetivas e fisiológicas. Os resultados mostram que os participantes do grupo induzido com medo, apresentam maiores níveis de tristeza do que medo, e não existem correlações positivas entre a excitação sexual subjetiva e fisiológica. Quanto ao grupo de indução neutra mostra menores níveis de emoções tristes e de medo, mas não existem correlações entre excitação sexual subjetiva e fisiológica. No grupo de indução de tristeza não existem correlações entre a excitação sexual subjetiva e fisiológica tal como era esperado.

Studies of female participants have shown some evidence of the effect of negative affect on genital arousal, but not in subjective sexual arousal (Peterson & Janssen, 2007). The aim of this study is to assess the effect of the basic negative emotions, particularly fear and sadness, under the sexual responses, particularly in subjective sexual arousal and peripheral physiological in healthy women. A total of 51 women experienced the induction of emotions of sadness, neutral and fear through a video edited with negative valence images (IAPS) and classical music. After induction, participants were exposed an erotic video. Throughout this process were subjective and physiological responses measured. The results show that participants in the experimental group with fear have higher levels of sadness than fear, however, there are no positive correlations between subjective and psychophysiological arousal. Regarding the neutral induction group shows lower levels of sad and fear emotions, but there are no correlations between subjective and psychophysiological arousal. In sadness induction group there are no correlations between subjective and psychophysiological arousal, as expected.
