A Ville Verte de Le Corbusier como sistema : uma perspectiva centrada no parque

Abstract

A dissertação tem como tema a Ville Verte – o modelo de “cidade-parque” que, em 1930, Le Corbusier imaginou para o sector residencial da Ville Radieuse. Para a analisar, iremos considerar: primeiro, os seus antecedentes (quer no âmbito da produção do arquitecto, quer no âmbito dos estudos que desenvolveu, designadamente, sobre Hénard); depois, o processo de trabalho que conduziu à fixação do modelo; e, por fim, a sua natureza sistémica. Defenderemos que a Ville Verte, mais do que um projecto, é um sistema de projecto. A perspectiva sobre a Ville Verte que propomos, resultado de um trabalho de análise documental desenvolvido essencialmente na Fondation Le Corbusier, caracteriza-se ainda pela importância que atribui ao parque como elemento estruturante da cidade. Defenderemos que, mais do que um “fundo verde”, o parque é um suporte que organiza e complementa os vários constituintes da cidade, em relação aos quais mantém uma relação de efectiva interdependência.

The theme of this dissertation is the Ville Verte – the model of “park-city” that Corbusier imagined in 1930 for the residential sector of the Ville Radieuse (Radiant City). To analyze it we will consider: first, its antecedents (within the work of the architect, and within his studies, namely on Hénard); then, the process of work that led to the consolidation of the model; and, finally, its systemic nature. We will argue that Ville Verte, more than a project, is the system of a project. The perspective we propose on the Ville Verte, as the result of a documental analysis carried out at the Fondation Le Corbusier, marks the importance given to the park as structuring element of the city. We will argue that, more than a “green background”, the park is a support that organizes and complements the several constituents of the city, in an effective relation of interdependence.
