social.
A entidade
The theatrum was once a stage of great spectacle and glamour. But the theater was so much more than that: it represented during the last century, specially during the dictatorial regime, a form of criticism and against censorship of the installed power. With the end of this period the theater grew both in audience and in spectacles. Although today is more liberal, its themes are still limited by tabus and social criticism. Nowadays, the theatrum faces radical transformations. Being the physical space where the works of art are recreated, it has lost importance to the technological world, which allowthe visualization of the work virtually anywhere, thus endingwith the need to be in a certain physical space. Consequently, the asynchronism between piece and audience allowed the piece to be in several places at the same time, as well as reaching a much wider audience. In this investigation we try to identify, characterize and understand the effective audience of a cultural entity and its potential audience. The selected entity for this study was the Casa das Artes of Vila Nova de Famalicão. It was selected because of its geographical location and its programmatic diversity. In order to be able to form the sample we gathered participants from its audience, as well as inhabitants and students of the University of Minho belonging to the geographical area of Vila Nova de Famalicão. |
