atendimento do sistema produtivo do país e as organizações analisadas serem do setor
industrial.
This thesis analyzes Management Accounting (MA) in support of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in industrial organizations. Specifically, it aims to understand how and why these practices are adopted. In the literature, several authors call for work in this area, given the scarcity of research and the need to reduce the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge. Some studies indicate that organizations respond to institutional pressures and therefore they are reflecting the social reality of this environment as a mean of ensuring their survival. Therefore, this assumption led this research to adopt the theoretical line of the New Institutional Sociology, supported by the Institutional Theory for the construction of the explanation and to complement the referential is made use of the principles of stakeholders’ relationship of Stakeholders Theory, as well as concepts of Institutional Systems. The methodology adopted is the multiple case study, positivist paradigm, qualitative approach and explanatory nature, in which one tries to answer the how and why. A semistructured interview was used to collect data, nine cases were analyzed and 27 interviews were conducted. The results indicate that organizations are homogeneous in the environmental dimension, however, they are not in the social dimension, as well as they are presenting coercive isomorphism to MA practices for environmental and normative to the social issues. The explanation can be found in the country's regulatory system, which is complex and rigorous for environmental issues, because it is focused on the country's productive system and the organizations analyzed are from the industrial sector. Society, in turn, is off this regulatory system. The cultural-cognitive system also interferes, since, despite Brazilian society values the environment and is solidary, does not present structured forms to exerting pressure. Therefore, the study found evidence that environmental issues represent risk to the organization, while social issues are not representing risk. |
