Informação e serviço público: um retrato do "Jornal 2"

Abstract

Este trabalho toma a informação televisiva como tema central, desenvolvendo um estudo que procura analisar os conteúdos informativos do “Jornal 2”, principal bloco noticioso da RTP 2, emitidos entre 1 de setembro e 28 de novembro de 2014. Atendemos de forma particular aos temas e aos convidados deste noticiário procurando avaliar o modo como se manifestou o serviço público nos processos editoriais de produção deste bloco informativo. Sustentado numa base teórica que procurou integrar as principais propostas dos televisivos, iremos, com base nessas investigações, refletir na informação televisiva oferecida pelo principal programa de informação do canal dois do operador público. Como conclusões do nosso estudo poderemos destacar: o acompanhamento regular e considerável das temáticas culturais, embora os assuntos fortes da agenda se assumam como prioritários; e a forte aposta num amplo painel de convidados, maioritariamente do ramo académico, chamados para analisar os temas de cultura, sociedade e política.

This work takes the television news as a central theme, developing a study that tries to analyze the informative contents of the "Jornal 2", RTP 2 main news show, broadcasted between September 1st and November 28 of 2014. Attending specially to the themes and guests of this show, we tried to analyze how the public service was manifested in the editorial processes of production of this newscast. Supported by a theoretical basis that tried to include the principal proposals of television studies, we will, based on these investigations, reflect on television information offered by the publics operator channel two’s main information show. As conclusions of our study we can highlight: a regular and substantial monitoring of cultural themes, although strong agenda issues arrive as a priority; and an investment on a large group of guests, mostly academics, called to analyze the themes of culture, society and politics.
