empresarial.
Taking into account the current globalization of the Textile and Clothing Portuguese Industry (ITVP) and its consequent rise in competitiveness, there is an increasing demand for companies to obtain a competitive edge. Innovation, whether of products, processes or through the adoption of new business strategies and models, has therefore become essential to deal with the increase in business competitiveness. Thus, it is important to investigate what is the role, nowadays, of the emergence of new business models and which are the strategies most frequently used in order to reach that aim. This work has as its main objective the study of strategies and business models in the ITVP, with a special emphasis on the business models that define the industry and can dictate its future. It also intends to identify and understand the emerging trends at ITVP, its importance in the different organizations and what these mean not only to the industry itself but also its role on the appearance of innovative business models. Firstly, a qualitative analysis of the ITVP was made through four semi-structured interviews, which allowed the identification of the main trends and concepts of emerging business models. Various trends of the ITVP with impact on the business model were identified, having been elaborated a framework for the analysis of its impact in the analyzed companies through the evaluation of their viability and applicability. Through the analysis of this framework they were identified two generic strategies namely, the launch of spin-offs and collaborative partnerships in order to support and reinforce the business models used in the ITVP. |
