In a highly competitive market, were the difference and the value creation are crucial for the costumer, understanding what leads the consumers to relate themselves with the companies is, more and more, a theme of interest for both academic community and organizational leaders. Therefore, the following study proposes to analyse the relationship between consumers and companies through the role of social corporate responsibility on consumer’s loyalty. For that reason, we carried out an empirical research that adopts a quantitative methodology, having a sample constituted by 238 respondents as the object of study. The results demonstrate that it was not found an empirical support that concludes that the social corporate responsibility influences both consumers’ identification with the company and their loyalty. Furthermore, the results had confirmed that, as the literature suggests, the attractiveness of the identity of a company plays an important role in the consumer identification with that company. On the other hand, it is observed that when consumers identify themselves with a company, they tend to be more loyal to that company. Ultimately, it is noted that the in-role behaviours (purchase of company products) have no impact on the consumer’s identification with the company, while the extra-roles behaviours (WOM, recommendations and feedback) contribute in a considerable way for this to happen. In this context, the word of mouth (WOM) is the behaviour that stands out the most. When it comes to customer’s loyalty, both in-role and extra-role behaviours potentiate its development. Here, the results point out as major contributors to the increased of loyalty the extra-role behaviours, particularly the WOM and the feedback. In the inverse relationship, in other words, in the recognition of what behaviours depend on the loyalty is, once more, the WOM that stands out.
