alunos.
percursos escolares melhor sucedidos. The present study has as main subject the learning difficulties of students in the specific context of educational supports on the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. As general purposes, it is intended to characterize sociologically social and educational pathways of the students with learning difficulties, to identify the intervening factors in the developing process of the students learning difficulties and to understand the relationship between the social and cultural capital of parents and the degree of focus in the students learning difficulties. From a theoretical point of view, our approach privileged the analysis of the evolutionary directions of educational policies in Portugal, especially in respect to state school, the characterization of the schools organizational model, the discussion around school for everyone, associated to the promotion of differentiated pedagogies in order to the educational success of the students and the teaching system quality. It was also discussed the complex relationship between cultural capital and school inequalities, namely the influence that the cultural and social capital can exercise on the learning difficulties of the students with educational support. From a methodological point of view, this work was based on a case study using the techniques of questionnaire survey, non-participatory observation and document analysis. In a more operative way, our research sought to understand how the Educational Supports combat the learning difficulties and how the social and cultural capital of the family affects or not the students with learning difficulties. The results reveal in general a causal relationship between the cultural capital of the families and the students learning difficulties but also, at the level of educational practices, the need of a deep change in the learning and teaching strategies and methodologies developed by the teachers in order to ensure more successful school pathways. |
