Research is focused on the study of a wide variety of organized molecular structures and microheterogeneous systems using primarily optical spectroscopic techniques. The overall goal is to understand how the local microenvironment affects the intermolecular and intramolecular interactions of the photoactive molecules. The main areas of application are in biophysics, environment technologies (wastewater cleaning and solar energy conversion), radiation transport and non-linear optics.
