As transições múltiplas de uma criança com N.E.E. : um estudo de caso

Abstract

O tema desta dissertação está relacionado com as transições múltiplas vividas por uma criança que sofreu grandes queimaduras no corpo aos oito meses de idade. Trata-se assim, de um estudo de caso e ao mesmo tempo de uma investigação-acção. A criança em estudo entrou aos três anos de idade para um Jardim-de-infância da rede pública com características muito próprias. Sendo o modelo adoptado nesse jardimde- infância sócio construtivista, houve necessidade de se preparar um trabalho rigoroso e sistemático que envolveu uma equipa coesa e dinâmica, onde todos os membros tinham uma característica comum: o respeito pelos direitos das crianças. Nos quatro anos em que a referida criança frequentou a sala de Jardim-de-infância traçaram-se objectivos/estratégias que foram fundamentais para esta suportar as mudanças a que foi sujeita. Assim, numa primeira etapa deu-se primazia às relações sociais, iniciativa e linguagem. Já num segundo momento, a preocupação focou-se na sua transição para o primeiro ciclo do Ensino Básico, havendo necessidade de ser treinada no computador e de se realizar visitas constantes a uma sala do 1º ano do 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico. Nesse ano deu-se especial ênfase à área da expressão e comunicação, domínio da linguagem oral e abordagem à escrita e à área da formação pessoal e social. Na segunda fase deste estudo, que se prolongou por um período de quatro anos, em que a criança frequentou o 1º ciclo do Ensino Básico, a investigadora assumiu um papel de observadora e de participante activa, em simultâneo. É de referir que, no segundo ano de frequência da criança no primeiro ciclo do Ensino Básico, foi realizada uma entrevista, afim de se conhecer a sua percepção acerca desse novo contexto. Na mesma altura, realizaram-se também entrevistas à professora do ensino regular, à professora dos apoios educativos e à tarefeira que acompanhou a criança desde o Jardim-de-infância.

The subject of this dissertation are the multiple transitions endured by a child who suffered a severe body burning, at the age of eight. Thus, it is both a case study, as well as an action-research. The subject of this study was a child who joined the nursery school at the age of three. This nursery school was a particular school, since it used the social construtivist model, and therefore it was necessary to develop a thorough and sistematic work, involving a united and commited team, in which all of its members shared a common trace: the respect for the children’s rights. During the four years that this child attended the nursery school, the strategies adopted were essential in order for her to endure all the changes that she was subjected to. In the first stage, this study focused primarily on the social relations, initiative and language. After that, the focus of attention was placed on the transition of the child to the grammar school, which required a special training on the child’s computer skills, as well as several visits to the classroom of the grammar school. In that school year, there was a special emphasis on the expression and communication area, as well as the oral language oral, approach to the written language and the personal na social skills. In the second stage of this study, which amounted to four years, during the child’s way in the grammar school, the researcher played the role both of an observer, as well as an active participant. It is also important to mention the fact that, in the second year of the the child’s grammar school, an interview took place, in order to know her perception of the new environment. At the same time, the supporting teachers and the auxiliar who was with the child since the nursery school were also interviewed.
