São-lhe impostas normas e regras socialmente aceites.
Sexuality, intrinsic domain of all human being, still nowadays target of many taboos, myths and the unknown (Anastácio, 2007). Speaking of sexuality is hard, even though it invades us on the most different contexts that surround us. Sexual Education becomes for that reason crucial mainly when recent studies lead us to the point that family, the main string of learning, refutes to do it because of the lack of knowledge, religious or cultural constrains or just because of the lack of time. Children, in other hand, ask for sexual education constantly in their questions to us. Nevertheless, the insertion of sexual education, integrated on the thematic of Health Promotion Education and legislated since around twenty years, the first law from 1984 still is quite sporadic (GTES, 2007). Since the early ages, children explore their body and the others body through games. Rules and laws socially accepted are usually imposed to them. Acquire knowledge of myths and taboos about certain body parts and build up a sexual moral. During their growing, children establish the notion of sexual identity, by genre. The children stick to their genre stereotypes. Having as aim the knowledge and the valorization of their self-esteem attitudes increase, as well as the genre equality encouragement. The present investigation, developed in three Fafe schools, is just part of an exploratory study, strictly in a qualitative way that involved first to the fourth grade students. As data collect instrument, was used a survey based in a “draw-and-write” technique, sustained by Brown (1995), Jowet (1994) and Hayes (1995) studies. To the instrument’s validation, a pilot test took place. After the reformulation of the pilot test the survey was applied to 177 students from the first to the fourth grade of schooling. As data results treatment was used the statistics software SPSS17.0 and Microsoft Office Excel 2007. SPSS was used to the statistic data treatment of the dependent/independent variables and the independent variables genre and schooling grade. Excel software was a very useful resource for the graphical data treatment. To a better understanding of the collected data, it was separated in conceptual answer categories (Bodgan &Biken, 1994). Analyzing the results we can infer that there are well defined stereotypes about femininity and masculinity. The distinction between girls and boys is done by external characteristics, girls “long hair and skirts or long hair and jeans” and boys “short hair and jeans”. We can also verify that the students from the first and second grades body conceptions are essentially affective, nevertheless the third and fourth grade student’s body conceptions is a bit different, showing a scientific knowledge increase about the body. However there are alternative conceptions that are also very meaningful. In addiction the sexual identity conception stills quite connected with genre identity activities, clothing, characteristics, profession or well distinctive tasks for each genre. It’s verified that students don’t separate one from the other and the role separation is linked to the social rule that we should follow. The study also shows that the age, schooling grade and genre variables interfere in the body and sexual identity conceptions. There are significant differences in many aspects between the whole fourth schooling grades and between the both genres. This project allowed also to show the need of a deep investigation in this theme, pointing to the require of doing other studies in this domain.
